The Mount Vernon City School District is holding a gift card drive to support families affected by the fire on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Help make a difference in our community by assisting these families who lost everything. Please assist by donating a gift card of any amount.

School News
The final Superintendent's Student Advisory Council meeting of the year was held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Students reflected on their time in the advisory council and had lunch and cake to celebrate a successful school year.
On Saturday, June 3, 2023, all pre-K students who completed 90% or more of their homework this academic year were invited to attend a private viewing of “The Little Mermaid.”
Microsoft Philanthropies is bringing its Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS) Program to Mount Vernon High School for the 2023-24 school year.
The Mount Vernon City School District held its annual Health Fair on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Mount Vernon Honor Academy. Families in Mount Vernon came out for a day of outside activities and fun for the children.
Rayanu Adam, Senior at Mount Vernon STEAM Academy, received the Gates Scholarship, a last-dollar scholarship that will cover the entire four years of college, including tuition, books, room, and board. This prestigious scholarship is only presented to 300 students per year. Rayanu will be attending Cornell University in the Fall of 2023 and plans to major in electrical engineering with a minor in robotics.
The Mount Vernon STEAM Academy's Principles of Biomedical Science classes participated in authentic, hands-on dissections this spring orchestrated by Mr. TJ Pufahl, biology teacher at STEAM.
